End of Semester: Time to Pack Up

One of the worst times for a college student is finals week. Not only is the semester almost over, but you have to pack up all of your belongings and go home. Believe me when I say it. Everything is not going home with you. You will see yourself leaving some things behind.
One of the best ways to pick what stuff to take home with you, is to look at the stuff you use the most and throw out all of the junk that will mean nothing to you later on, such as old notes, clothes that you will never wear or random furniture that has seen better days.
This is the worst time of the year. You cram for a week, living at the library and drinking tons of energy boosters, then you say goodbye to everyone and go home for four months. Life is about to change for you. You will go back to the regular "home" lifestyle.
But remember, it is only four months and for me the time flies by. So again you will pack yourself back up and be back for another year of the college life.

and oh yeah....Good Luck on Finals.

When college gets to you..Sit back and enjoy yourself.

Every once in a while, there will be a time that you feel there are way too many people around you and you feel as if you need some "you" time. Ever since you got away to college, you have to grow accustom to having someone breathing off your body for weeks on end. If you aren't in the best mood or something negative happened with you, I will bet you a lot of people will know.
This can really make someone really uncomfortable. The best way to get away from all of this is to just sit back and relax. GO to a place where no one really goes to and just relax. Don't think about anything. Don't really look at anything. Just be about yourself and let time stand still. Bring your ipod and get into some comfortable clothes.

Becoming a Social Butterfly

I know this a little random, but I think a great way to have a good time while away at college, is to go out and have fun. Oh yes yes it is. You want to have friends, you want people to want to hang out with you and you want to have the time of your life. Think of college as the greatest time of your life. There will be no other time where you will live like this so you better make the best of it.
I remember when I first came to college, and I really didn't know anyone. So what I did was become very friendly to everyone I met. I put on a front that I was nice and caring. More people will open up to you if you come off very friendly. Your first impression will not only give people an opinion about you, but could become a great memory down the line.
Once you find some people who you think are fun and want to go out with them, go out with them. This is going to be the second place where you will meet new people. Once you go out and have that liquid confidence, you still should be nice. Don't go so sloppy, that people will remember you as "that guy", but have fun. Don't hold yourself back just because you are trying to use your magic and flirt with some people of the opposite sex. Be confident. Even if you just want to be sociable, go out and do it. Remember, best times of your life. This is a huge factor on why it will be.

When Crunch Time can become Crunch Time.

All college students have dealt with it. All college students hate it. All great college students overcome it. It's called stress. A college student deals with this the most, when the have a lot of work due in a short amount of time. The best way to relieve this stress is by making a planned schedule to get all the work done. It's all about timing and how you use your time wisely.
Make sure you are not overcrowding yourself with work and DO NOT PUT IT OFF TIL THE END. Then you will be too busy drinking coffee and using stimulants to stay awake. Not worth it to me and should not be worth it to you. Here is a list of easy to-dos that will help you relieve stress.

1. Taking a Walk
- Just get out of the house and enjoy the fresh air. Look at the scenery and waste a couple of minutes to get the blood flowing.

2. Working Out.
- This will really get the blood flowing and helps the brain relax. If you want to get into a euphoric state, take a long run. The endorphins in the brain will actually increase. If you need to take some upsetting feeling out, life some weights. This helps by "pushing" out negative energy.

3. Listen to music.
- This helps because it puts you in a better mood and can also help with creativity. Listen to "easy going" music that will put you in a restful state.

4. Laughing.
- Watch a funny movie, listen to a funny comedian or listen to funny stories from friends. To make this more "online" friendly here are some videos that make me laugh:

5. "Being Relieved or Relieving Yourself"
-Yeah it's what I meant...No one can argue that a great way to feel less stressed is to cough* cough* cough**. You understand what I mean.

Good Luck with Crunch Time everybody.

Time to Get This Thing Going.

Since I have been away for a while, I feel I have a lot to talk about with just a little time. First off, when students have to get back from break, they are not completely accustomed with being a student. What I mean is that they have been away from school, studying, writing and exams for a week and got to rest. Well, it's time to become a student again. The best way to do this, it start off by make a number of goals that will groove you back into the "swing of things".
As you can tell by my blog timestamps you can tell I did not really take my advice very well. But believe me when I say it, IT IS THE BEST WAY. You can only learn from your mistakes, so from now on Eddie is going to be mistake free. I have a lot to write about, and for my loyal viewers (I know there is not a lot of you) I feel like I owe it to you to continue to explain how to be a student, and be one successful student, academically and socially. So for now, just hold on. I will be back very shortly to continue on with my tips and tricks.

It's Break Time

Thesaurus answer: time-out, recess, respite

Every semester a break (usually in the middle) a break is given. During the fall semester you get the Thanksgiving break. In the spring you get...well spring break. I have had plenty of spring breaks, but I never have had a "spring break" experience. I for one am not very fond of traveling. So every spring break, I go home and spend time with the family. I will be honest I shower probably 4 times for the 8 days I am home (when I'm at school I shower at least once a day). I just like to relax and share some stories with my family. Another reason I like to go home is to make a couple bucks. I have a job at home, which most people do, and it helps pay for social funds (ohhh you know what I mean) for when I get back. Even though this might seem like the longest week of my life, it is a good stress-free break. That is why I feel they have the spring break. To relax and enjoy yourself. There are plenty of ways to spend the break, so just make it memorable and make it for you.

The World of Class

Class is a whole new idea for the incoming freshman. This is probably the first time in life when you realize that your parents won't be there to come wake you up or force you to go. You have the opportunity to become your own person. It's a strange feeling and one that you must accept. Personally, it scared the living shit out of me. I had to set my own alarm and had to make sure I was responsible enough to get my work done. But no worries. Once you get yourself in your own groove, then you will be able to become your own person. You will meet new, fascinating people that will not only be there 24/7, but can highly influence you with simple things.
When I say simple things, I mean that they will be able to help you eat at a specific time, and show you what is the most important subjects to concentrate your precious time on. Oh by the way, this will probably be the first time in your life that you feel you have no money. Don't worry about that because the bank of D-A-D-D-Y will still help you for the time being. Just get accustomed to sparing your funds. It is a long semester and the money has to last.
